The School Medical Officer plays a critical role in promoting and safeguarding the health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. This role involves providing medical care, the administration of medical records and managing emergency situations, particularly those requiring first aid intervention. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, and be fully trained in first aid.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide first aid and emergency medical care to students, staff, and visitors as needed.
* Manage students with chronic conditions such as asthma, allergies, diabetes, etc.
* Maintain accurate medical records/plans and ensure confidentiality
* Administer medications to students as prescribed by their medical plans
* Coordinate with emergency services as necessary.
* Ensure the first aid room is well-equipped and maintain an inventory of medical supplies.
* Ensure the successful running of student services, including assisting students with borrowed uniform, timetable enquiries and lost property
Qualifications & Skills:
* First Aid Training Certification is mandatory
* Previous experience working in a school, hospital, or similar environment is beneficial.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
