W hat you’ll do As an Engineering Lead, you'll be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that are crucial to our success. This is a senior leadership level role and will blend both technical expertise with a great passion for coaching and developing people, including advocating team wellbeing. Lead and mentor a multi-skilled team to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions to support business goals. Collaborate with feature teams and third parties to identify and implement creative solutions that align with business objectives. Use agile tools, methodologies and data to monitor progress, addressing any issues promptly to ensure timely delivery. Identify and mitigate risks to ensure successful implementations to live. Develop and document processes to improve engineering efficiency and service quality. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, fostering an environment of learning and growth within the team. Supervise the maintenance and enhancement of service infrastructure, ensuring its reliability and efficiency. Management of Third Party Suppliers to ensure solutions are performant, secure and resilient, and meet bank objectives and client needs. Monitor and analyse service performance metrics to continually improve our offerings. Accept 247 accountability and ownership to support availability, currency and performance. Ensure that all engineering activities align with industry standards and regulations. What you’ll need Proven experience in a leadership role within engineering, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent. Breadth of technical understanding across software development and architecture, service operations, DevOps, and cloud. Experience of agile development practices, DevOps pipelines, continuous integration / deployment, test automation and the E2E software development lifecycle. Strong communication skills, dynamic and adaptable, with the ability to facilitate efficient and effective decision-making. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of collaborators. Experience of managing Third Party Suppliers in the context of providing software solutions, including the configuration and testing of such products. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative approach to finding solutions, and the ability to think strategically. Strong collaborator, capable of building and sustaining relationships at all levels. It would be great if you have experience of Lending in a Commercial context, but it's not essential.
