Job Title: Operational Support Officer/Receptionist
The Operational Support teams engage and provide support to a variety of services across Adult Social Care, including Adult Safeguarding, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, and Older People/Physical Disabilities. The teams are instrumental to the coordination of reception duties, processing complex referrals across numerous access points in HASC, ensuring essential data is communicated to relevant services; ensuring that data quality is in place for statutory returns and accurate reporting; providing finance-related support to ensure payments and contributions are promptly loaded. Information received can be highly sensitive and at times can include distressing content.
As a Support Officer/Receptionist within the team, you will be expected to input data relevant to various services across adult social care using multiple systems to a high standard. It is essential that the applicant has an excellent command of written English and also has a very good level of numeracy, with the ability to work on their own initiative and communicate openly with the rest of the team about day-to-day tasks and workflow.
You will be required to ensure data is loaded promptly and may oversee electronic referral routes into Adult Social Care, flagging up any urgent issues, and working in liaison with colleagues to ensure statutory and locally required timescales are met while remaining flexible to service demands and pressures. You will also be the first point of contact for service users, their families, contractors, stakeholders, and internal customers.
The successful applicant must have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise to ensure deadlines are met. They should have empathy, a mature outlook, and be confident interacting with service users that have Learning Disabilities, able to remain calm in difficult situations, multitask, and work in a demanding environment.
