About the Role
EKFB is seeking a Utilities Coordinator to join our team for the HS2 project, responsible for the approval of 'Permit to works' and protection of utility assets within an 80km section of the high-speed rail link.
The Utilities Coordinator will work independently to ensure utility plans, service drawings (GIS), and ‘As Built’ records are current and accessible to support construction activities. They will review and approve plans to break ground, ensure compliance with safety and standard procedures, and act as a liaison with service providers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Approve 'Permit to works' and oversee utility protection measures.
2. Review and approve plans for breaking ground, ensuring adherence to standards.
3. Coordinate with site teams and utility providers for access and issue resolution.
4. Manage and verify 'As-Built' information in accordance with policies.
About You
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* SMSTS certification
* IOSH Avoiding Danger from Underground Services, EUSR, or NVQ equivalent
* Knowledge of overhead and underground utility procedures (GS6, HSG47)
* Understanding of statutory undertaker safety and control procedures
* Familiarity with GIS
* Knowledge of HAUC, HS2 Act, Self-lay process, Assurance & PPAs, and utility regulations
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
