Job Description
The Opportunity: Join the Product Cyber Security team providing specialist cyber security solutions across projects. Deliver effective cyber security systems by producing the design, documentation, and evidence to support security approval and assurance activities.
The Product Cyber Security team has a strong pedigree in the delivery of security solution design and system accreditation. As part of the team, you would have opportunities to represent the department on one or more projects sustaining current products and developing the next generation.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a rapidly developing technology area. You will be able to use your skills and motivation to influence security design and play a vital role in delivering usable capability to our end users.

Alongside the project work, the department also runs personal development and R&D activities to ensure its skills, technologies, and people are ready for the rapid pace of change in Cyber Security for the years to come.
Responsibilities
1. Identify, assess, and lead security risks to systems, ensuring security measures are implemented and validated.
2. Input your balanced cyber security technical skills into a project team, considering complex trades and requirements on cyber security design and assurance.
3. Collaborate closely with the wider engineering team and provide cyber security expertise into the engineering lifecycle.
4. Deliver the project's cyber security risk management process and provide guidance based on risk management methodology.
5. Represent Cyber Security across project engineering functions and contribute to the project's Security Working Group.
6. Produce the project security case and engage with project collaborators focusing on delivering against project achievements.
Your role will enable you to develop your knowledge and expertise and face complex challenges in a domain critically important for the future of the company.
Engage in regular liaison with the end user, customer community, and project seniors to introduce new cyber security thinking to the company and its customers.
You will have the opportunity to make a difference to equipment throughout its lifecycle, balancing the need for security against multiple competing demands and deadlines.
Experience Needed
1. Engineering degree qualification or equivalent experience (Systems, Software, or Electronics).
2. Aware of systems engineering, electronics, software technology, and development principles.
3. Ability to undertake risk assessments and propose security measures across various dimensions.
4. Understanding of MOD and Government information security policy, standards, and ability to tailor them to our specific product needs.
5. A validated delivery-focused mindset regarding cyber security design, implementation, and assurance.
6. Prior experience in delivering security case documents for military equipment or similar.
7. Proven ability to engage with partners and engineering teams for direction on information security solutions.
8. Understanding of systems and security verification, validation, testing, and evaluation approaches, including HMG Information Assurance schemes.
9. A curiosity about emerging risk assessment approaches and next-generation security functions.
Desired Experience
Experience in the Defence/Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous. DV clearance desirable but not crucial.
