4Recruitment Services are seeking a Children's Short Break Service Team Leader to work for our client based in Barnsley. Our client is seeking a driven and child-focused individual to lead their brand-new short breaks team. This role sits within the children with disabilities service and involves management oversight of 4 short break support workers whose primary role is to undertake short break assessments, present at Barnsley’s short break panel, complete decision support tool checklists and support with the assessments, complete transition paperwork and referrals to adult social care and other services, and to review short break packages.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* You will be required to oversee the short break offer and lead the delivery and review of tailored and targeted short break packages/services to families and children through a team of short break family support workers.
* Lead the short break team and advise on the development, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and quality assurance of related projects, training, programs, and systems.
* Provide professional supervision, coaching, and mentoring to internal practitioners through a variety of mechanisms to effectively address any quality or safeguarding concerns.
* Provide written reports and presentations as appropriate.
* Report any safeguarding incident or concerns immediately in line with Barnsley Safeguarding Children Board and Council policies and procedures.
* Develop and implement whole system change in partnership through agreed programs to support service design.
* Take an active role in statutory inspection events in associated functions and services, supporting developments in response to changes to inspection frameworks and associated guidance.
* Support and advocate the development of the service, taking an active role in developing this through effective collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders, including children and their families.
* Ensure that services are cost-effective and budgets are accounted for. This will include the provision of monthly budget analysis reports outlining spend, variances, and projected outturns.
* Build internal capacity to deliver appropriate and evidence-based practice, providing support in the interpretation of relevant statutory frameworks and guidance.
* Demonstrate impact and outcomes in relation to children and families; use this alongside your specialist theoretical knowledge to ensure packages continue to reflect children and families' needs and legislative requirements.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Professional qualification at Level 3 in a related discipline.
* Substantial relevant post-qualifying experience of working with children and families and multi-agency partners to deliver services.
* Experience of managing and directing staff and financial resources to meet targets and outcomes in a high-pressure environment.
* Experience of managing change in practice and leading staff.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
* An enhanced DBS.
