WorkwithYork are working with our local authority client to find an Interim Communications and Engagement Manager to lead on their equalities consultation.
This is a temporary, 3-month full time assignment, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role, with regular and easy access required to York.

This role involves:
Delivering and expanding on a strategic communications and engagement plan, to support the clients equalities consultation.
Ensuring that residents, stakeholders and community groups engage meaningfully with the draft equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) strategy 2024-2027
Driving awareness, encouraging diverse participation and ensuring the consultation reflects the needs and aspirations of York’s diverse communities.
You will have:
Proven experience in delivering high-impact communication and engagement strategies, preferably within a local government or public sector context.
Strong understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles and legislation, including the Equality Act 2010.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences.
Proficiency in using digital communication tools, including social media, online survey platforms and content management systems
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
