Macmillan Specialist Oncology Physiotherapist
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Chartered Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Therapies team to work within our in-patient services at the Velindre Cancer Centre. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapist with highly developed communication skills, good organisational and time management skills, and appropriate post graduate experience. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate CPD in rehabilitation to take on this challenging role of specialised assessment and rehabilitation interventions to enable cancer and palliative care patients to live well with the impact of cancer.
Main duties of the job
You will work with a supportive MDT in cancer services to provide a flexible approach to service delivery, contributing to the in-patient services. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team serving our acute oncology assessment unit, ambulatory care, and inpatient services. There will also be an opportunity for the post holder to become involved in research and service development. In addition, you will be involved in working flexibly across the 7-day service provided to our oncology inpatients.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Professional registration HCPC
* Registration with CSP
* Evidence of recent study
Experience
* Has experience in at least 2 discrete service areas
* Inter-professional and multiagency team working
* Direct involvement with carers and families to facilitate return to function
* Experience of Oncology and Palliative Care
Aptitudes and abilities
* Autonomous practitioner with self-management skills
* Sound clinical reasoning skills within clinical area
* Mechanisms of audit and research methodology
