We are looking for a Consultant Dermatologist who will:
* Provide effective and compassionate care for our Dermatology patients. The successful applicant will work closely with medical colleagues to provide inpatient support and outpatient services.
* Develop their own area of specialist interest and provide sub-specialty expertise.
* Develop and expand the current Dermatology service locally and regionally.
* As a core member of the West Yorkshire and Humber Cancer Alliance, work closely with regional partner trusts.
* Work with the Clinical Director and General Manager to review current working practices and drive forward innovative changes to develop new models of care.
* Get involved in clinical research, teaching, and development.
* Provide expert advice and support regarding complex cases to clinical colleagues in primary and secondary care.
This is a full-time post providing 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), but applicants wishing to work part-time are also encouraged to apply.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to actively engage with other consultant colleagues in the development of future service models to meet the changing needs of those patients using the dermatology services at CHFT. The post holder is expected to fully participate in the academic day organised by the group of dermatologists.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MRCP or equivalent
* All applicants must have Specialist registration for Dermatology (or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK).
* Applicants must be Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise.
Experience and Achievements
* Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of the Dermatology specialty.
* Significant minor Dermatology procedures experience and any other postgraduate qualifications that can advance the department needs would be preferable.
* Understanding current issues within the wider NHS.
* Attendance at a recognised management course.
* Ability to work with and lead others across professions.
Teaching and Training
* Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff.
* Academic achievements/evidence of familiarity with research methods which have resulted in publications.
* Training in clinical and educational supervision.
* Attendance at a teaching course.
Audit and Research
* Knowledge of Audit principles and evidence of participation in and completion of audit projects.
* Critical Appraisal Skills.
* Evidence of knowledge of research methodology.
* Good communication and empathy skills with patients.
* Evidence of willingness to participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment to provide an integrated service.
* Ability to manage high-pressure situations e.g. clinical crisis.
* Ability to prioritise and organise workload and co-ordinate staff.
* Willingness to work flexibly to deliver clinically effective and cost-effective healthcare.
General
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Ability to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
* An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
