Technical Manager - Lancaster
Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Manager to oversee the technical operations within our Client’s state of the art chilled food manufacturing site.
This role is an equal split of site and office based and you will require a strong understanding of food safety standards plus the ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
Shift: Monday to Friday 8.00 – 5:00
Experience Required:
* As Technical Manager, you will have sole responsibility for the chilled foods production site and will be overseeing the QA Manager within the site.
* Strong understanding of food safety standards, and the ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
* Previous technical management experience, ideally from within chilled foods.
* BSc or equivalent (food related) qualification.
* Operating within the guidelines of BRCGS and customer standards.
* Good knowledge of food industry specification portals and approval systems.
* HACCP level 3 or above (TACCP / VACCP) and ensure that all operations comply with food safety regulations.
* Knowledge of high-risk food preparation / cooking manufacturing.
* Able to demonstrate areas of change management.
* Able to evidence solid planning, organisational and communication skills and a positive outlook.
Responsibilities:
* This role involves ensuring product quality, compliance with health and safety regulations, and optimizing production processes.
* Monitor and ensure the consistent quality of chilled food products, from raw material to finished goods.
* As the Technical Manager, ensure that all machinery and tools are maintained in optimal working condition and coordinate repairs when necessary.
* Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety policies and conducting regular safety audits.
* Lead, train, and mentor a team, ensuring all staff are skilled in the latest techniques and safety protocols.
* Analyse production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity.
