Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional guest services, ensuring that every dining experience is memorable. You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and assisting guests with any inquiries they may have. Your ability to upsell menu items and your knowledge of food safety and culinary practices will contribute to the overall success of our establishment.
Responsibilities
1. Greet and welcome guests promptly with a friendly attitude.
2. Take accurate food and drink orders using a point-of-sale system.
3. Serve food and beverages in a timely manner while ensuring presentation meets our standards.
4. Provide recommendations on menu items to enhance the dining experience through effective upselling techniques.
5. Assist in food preparation as needed, ensuring adherence to food safety guidelines.
6. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including tables, utensils, and condiments.
7. Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring satisfaction throughout their visit.
8. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality of food delivered.
9. Process payments accurately and efficiently at the end of each meal service.
Requirements
1. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
2. Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary basics is highly desirable.
3. Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others.
4. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and processing payments.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
