Technical Sales – Business Development Manager Hybrid, based in Leicester Job ref: HS/63689 Reports to: Managing Director Company Overview: Listgrove have been retained by a specialist within injection moulding, a manufacturer with a long history of developing a range of technical projects for their diverse clientele. Offering a true cradle to grave process, with more than seventy injection moulding machines spanning twenty-two to seven hundred and fifty tonnes with a shot capacity of five kilograms. Role Overview: As a Technical Sales - Business Development Manager, your sole mission will be to build and develop new and existing business with emphasis on customer acquisition. You will have prior industry experience and ideally a solid understanding of injection moulding coupled with knowledge of plastic materials. Developing a sales pipeline from scratch, utilizing existing leads where possible to acquire new clients and business. Maintain and develop existing accounts where applicable, as a secondary focus. Conducting business development activities, via telephone or email (as examples), responsible for follow-ups, quotations and responding to queries. Act as a point of contact when necessary to clients, you will be a project manager where appropriate, cradle to grave. Ensure agreed project dates are communicated and met both internally and externally, amendments to be highlighted to all those involved as and when appropriate. A full commercial overview to be maintained at all times, to allow revenue and efficiencies to be maximized. Obtaining customer approvals for drawing, quotations and prototypes as examples. Monitor market trends and provide valuable insights to improve product range and sales strategies. To actively promote the company within the marketplace, attending relevant trade shows which are deemed appropriate. To maintain high standards across the board, you will ensure clients are well informed and their projects are completed on time as examples. The Ideal Candidate: As close to Leicester as possible and shows a willingness to work from the office from time to time (this could be once per week, every month or a few days per month dependent on business needs). Holds a full UK driving license, UK wide travel is expected. Has a proven track record within sales or shows great potential but will have existing knowledge within injection moulding and/or the wider plastics industry. Someone with the “right” attitude – proactive, takes initiative, a solution finder, autonomous/independent, professional and curious. Considers themselves to be structured and strategic. Holds a practical mindset, you will be an excellent problem solver and a real solution seller, utilizing existing technical expertise. Ideally has a background in plastics manufacturing (plastic processing), injection moulding is desired who has an affinity for business development and a passion for sales. You strive for excellence and maintain standards, taking ownership and having a responsibility to present yourself and the company in the best way possible.
