Position Summary: As a Packaging Category Manager, you will be responsible for leading commodities and collaborating with Purchasing Category Managers, Purchasing Management, and internal stakeholders to define and implement bioMerieux’s Purchasing Strategies for your assigned commodities. In this role, you are accountable for deployment across the company, within a Global and international Organization. This position works a 9/8/80 schedule which allows for every other Friday off Main Accountabilities: Global role for given Commodities or sub-Commodities: Designs, develops and communicates the Purchasing Category Strategies in accordance with the corporate priorities and business perspective. Drives the implementation across the company worldwide. Manages Global Suppliers (including Tier2 and Tier3) within his/her scope: contracts, prepares and leads negotiation, performance review (includes also the follow up of corrective action plans and continuous improvement plans). Masters categories in terms of cost modeling, RFQ, benchmarks, market trends for product offerings. Defines, implements and manages the Supplier Panel. Ensures that any local activity is conducted in accordance with the Commodity Strategy and Global Purchasing Roadmap. Brings purchasing support and added values to operations, at site/regional level. Facilitates local packaging purchasing activities. Meets Global Purchasing Objectives: Operational Competitiveness, Risk Mitigation, CSR Engagement and Innovation & Long Term growth. Guaranties compliance with Global Purchasing process and procedures, local regulations and internal controls, on his/her scope. Local (US) role for Packaging Commodities, and for above Categories managed as Global Lead Buyer: Manages the local suppliers. Ensures compliance of contracts, manages Supplier’s performance. Brings Purchasing support to Manufacturing projects. Identifies, promotes and drives Purchasing added values within operational topics. Leads Purchasing voice within cross functional Teams. Facilitates the Local Packaging Purchasing activities: data file maintenance, key meetings preparation, budget. Performs Purchasing risk analysis, mitigates Supply risks and ensures business continuity. Supports Purchasing Roadmap deployment: Continuous Improvement, Digitalization, CSR. Education, Experience and Skills: High School Diploma with 10 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in an industrial/technical environment and/or in the health sector OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience in Purchasing, preferably in an industrial/technical environment and/or inthe health sector. Selecting and qualifying suppliers, understanding products/services, preparing & leading negotiations, contract management and legal awareness, target costing, managing multicultural and cross-function interfaces; Packaging (food or medical), drive and influence, risk management, operational excellence, technical appetite, drive execution and make decisions.
