Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled or semi-skilled Fitter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a small team. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with PCV vehicles. Ideally, you will have a level 3 qualification in heavy goods maintenance or equivalent.
Duties
* Scheduled services and maintenance inspections to comply with the operator's licence on a fleet of 30 vehicles ranging from 8 seats to 53 seats.
* Inspect vehicles to MOT standard at regular intervals in line with the Company Operator Licence.
* Carry out services on the vehicles as requested.
* Diagnose problems, fix and repair vehicles as and when needed.
* Carry out roadside repairs either alone or with other members of the team.
* Fabrication including metal work and welding.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
* Any other jobs as requested by the Workshop Manager.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role.
* Strong mechanical knowledge.
* Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively.
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* You will need a car licence and ideally consider funded training to drive PCV vehicles.
