Locum Specialist Occupational Therapist - Critical Care
Contract Tenure: Initial 3 months

Pay Rate: £20 - £30 per hour

Job Summary:
1. Role: Specialist Occupational Therapist - Critical Care
2. Location: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
3. Team: Experienced Critical Care Therapy team
4. Schedule: 7 days a week
5. Experience Required: Acute hospital setting experience; critical care experience not essential
6. Key Responsibilities: Functional assessment and rehabilitation, patient-centered care, collaboration with multidisciplinary team, discharge planning support
7. Supervision: Clinical and leadership development provided by highly specialist team
Main Duties:
1. Clinical Practice: Assess, diagnose, and manage a specialist caseload of complex patients autonomously.
2. Collaboration: Work with Care Groups to ensure high standards of care and optimal patient flow.
3. Training & Supervision: Assist in delivering training, supervision, and appraisals within the team.
4. Specialist Advice: Provide expert advice within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust.
5. Service Development: Engage in projects to enhance services, training, and learning opportunities.

Person Specification:
1. Qualifications: Essential: Degree in Occupational Therapy; Essential: HCPC registration
2. Work Experience: Essential: Broad range of pre and post qualification experience, NHS experience, relevant clinical practice, teaching/student experience; Desirable: Audit and research participation
3. Knowledge: Essential: CPD evidence, specialist clinical reasoning
4. Skills: Essential: Excellent communication skills, leadership development
