Junior / Trainee Building Services Design Contracts Manager
A Junior / Trainee Building Services Design Contracts Manager with some experience in the construction or building facilities management industry and an interest in construction is required to join our team at Design Installation Service, an established design and build company based in Cheltenham providing building services throughout the construction industry including retail, commercial, leisure, education, and hospitality sectors.
ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE CONSIDERED – EXCELLENT EARNING POTENTIAL
As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to gain an ONC / HNC qualification or equivalent in building services dependent on academic skill by attending a suitable day release training course.
SALARY: Negotiable (Depending on Experience) + Annual Bonus + Company Car
Candidates can expect to earn £50,000+ per annum when qualified.
LOCATION: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, South West England (GL51)
The role is predominately office-based with a requirement to visit construction sites nationwide.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

JOB OVERVIEW
Due to increased workload, we have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Junior / Trainee Building Services Design Contracts Manager who has some experience in the construction or building facilities management industry and an interest in construction. Working as the Junior / Trainee Building Services Design Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the design of building services systems including HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water services, and above-ground drainage utilising architects' building plans, elevations, and 3D models to produce calculations and construction drawings.
Your duties will include:
1. Design of building services systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water services, and above-ground drainage.
2. Estimating of building services systems from in-house or consultant design services schemes.
3. Management of projects, including:
1. Liaising with the project team.
2. Procurement of materials, plant, and subcontractors.
3. Attending project team meetings.
4. Visits to site to inspect and manage the works.
5. Management of site labour and sub-contractors.
6. Assisting accounts with monthly project applications and invoicing.
7. Design development during the project.
8. Management of costs to meet project budget.
9. Monitoring project performance and production of programmes.
10. Production and management of health and safety files and associated responsibilities.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
1. Full UK driving licence.
2. Good level of computer skills.
3. Well organised with a good attention to detail.
4. Outgoing, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to handle responsibility.
5. Good written and verbal communication skills, with a team player attitude.
6. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
7. UK resident.
8. Some experience in the construction industry or building facilities management and an interest in construction.
