We are looking for 1 apprentice to join our Manufacturing Engineering team located at our Peterborough facility (PE1 5FQ). Our Manufacturing Engineering team is responsible for designing and improving our high - quality low - cost processes. These processes allow us to efficiently manufacture a range of defect-free components in line with the agreed engineering standards, which in turn are distributed to our global facilities and built in to our range of engine s. Our apprentices will : earn a competitive salary package, starting at c. £2 4,931 per year, receive 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, have access to a 9% annual bonus, a share scheme, a pension scheme, flexible benefits, flexible working opportunities and family-friendly policies. In collaboration with one of our partnered training providers, CU Apprenticeships (Better Futures) Ltd part of the Coventry University Group, our 53 month apprenticeship scheme will enable you to grow and develop your capabilities. Alongside on-the-job training supported by relatable mentors, apprentices will spend at least a minimum of 6 hours a week completing university-based learning leading to nationally recognised qualifications through the Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer degree apprenticeship standard: a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer Apprenticeship certificate, and a BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Engineering As part of this programme apprentices are required to attend university sessions on a day release basis (online synchronous delivery once a week, and on campus (Coventry city centre) sessions 1 – 2 times per month). On campus sessions will allow you to experience Coventry University’s state of the art labs and facilities which will enhance the quality of training you will be given. Travel will need to be considered for the face-to-face sessions - the campus does have excellent public transport links with it being within the city centre and there are also car parks with discounted student rates (subject to availability) Upon completion of the apprenticeship, apprentices can apply for IEng (Incorporated Engineer) professional registration status. The Experience Apprentices are responsible for driving performance and efficiency improvements into existing processes, ensuring the business can deliver customer requirements of quality, cost, and demand, whilst also ensuring our processes adhere to established standards, policies, and practices. Activities include but may not be limited to : Analysis of manufacturing processes across the Machining Centre of Excellence in all aspects of production. Adherence to product design requirements, cost, quality, compliance to safety standards and environmental requirements. W ork closely with a wide range of functions within the business, including O perations, Q uality, D esign E ngineering and S upply C hain to ensure you develop the skills needed to become a successful m anufacturing engineer within Caterpillar. This apprenticeship will allow you to undertake placements across the business in multiple critical functions, including quality, operational leadership, global manufacturing, and supplier development and Design Engineering. Entry Requirement GCSEs: Grade C or above in Maths and English. A-Levels: Minimum of 96 tariff points required including Grade C or above in A-Level Mathematics and A-Level Science plus one other subject making up the 96 total points. If candidates do not hold A-Levels, we will also accept an Extended Diploma or National Extended Diploma in Engineering or a related subject with a Merit, Merit, Merit profile NOTE: Equivalent academic qualifications to the above requirements welcome.
