Filmhouse (Edinburgh) Ltd. – Finance Manager
Filmhouse (Edinburgh) Ltd. (FEL) is a new charitable company established to relaunch and operate Filmhouse, Scotland’s leading cultural cinema.
Our vision is for Filmhouse to be a world class cinema for Scotland’s capital, contributing to the common good by connecting people with the full diversity of cinematic forms. After significant progress in fundraising and planning, we are now at the start of a major renovation of the premises at 88 Lothian Road, and plan to re-open the cinema in late spring 2025.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that FEL has sound financial management and planning, enabling it to operate sustainably and efficiently so as to meet key artistic and business objectives. The role supports the Executive and Programme Directors and the Café-bar Manager in delivering on their responsibilities with regard to the financial health of the organisation. The Finance Manager thus plays an essential role in delivering and developing Filmhouse’s cultural mission.
FEL is at a specific juncture of transition from the project to ‘re-open the doors’ – a preparation period where systems are in place to support the current day to day financial management – to a new phase that will require building upon existing systems and protocols for the future when the organisation opens for trading in June 2025.
The role is part time at four days a week and will be based on-site at Filmhouse on Lothian Road. We anticipate that the role will begin by the end of March 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Salary: pro rated from a full-time salary of £50K.
How to apply: Send your CV, a covering letter and details for two referees to recruitment@filmhouse.org.uk. You can also email this address if you have any specific questions.
Deadline for applications: Thursday 27th February 2025.
