Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer
Job Type: Days based, Perm
Location: Abingdon
Pay: Up to £53,000 DOE
Hours: 7:00-15:30 Mon-Thurs / 7:00-14:30 Fri
You will be working alongside a highly motivated and skilled workforce. Management are very open and accessible and team leaders will assist with any problems. The shop floor is well structured, organised and professional. The business is continuously developing to support and grow with their current and new "World Leader" customer base.
PURPOSE OF JOB: To program, set up and operate all types of CNC mills to the optimum safe method.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Programming, setting and operating CNC Milling Machines.
2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to enable programming, setting and manufacture to achieve a right first-time product.
3. Creating layout sheets to document tooling, tools, set ups and machine parameters to achieve repeatable results.
4. Ability to work independently to achieve exceptional high standards and deadlines.
5. Able to qualify and document own work using a variety of measuring equipment.
6. Ability and willingness to support and train others.
7. To work safely using the appropriate PPE and maintain a safe and organised workplace.
8. To continuously improve and provide time/cost saving ideas to supervisor wherever possible.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
1. Time served apprenticeship preferred but not necessary.
2. Minimum of 5 years programming and operating 3, 4 & 5 Axis CNC machines.
3. Proficient in Heidenhain controls; experience in Fanuc controls preferable but not required.
4. Ability to undertake and be responsible for own quality, competent in using MTE and completing quality reports.
5. Ability to produce parts to tight tolerances of around 20mm.
6. Experience with milling large parts up to 2.5m.
7. Trained in overhead crane training & manual handling beneficial but not essential as training can be provided.
8. Good communication skills are essential.
9. Reliable with a positive can-do attitude.
10. Focus on quality (right first time) and productivity essential.
11. Able to flex and support an ever-changing business.
12. Strong work ethic essential.
