The Company
SavvyVan is an exciting and innovative tech company which designs and manufactures control and monitoring systems for off grid technology solutions.
Since our start up in 2020, we have grown and expanded, with 2024 being our biggest year to date! Given this, we are now looking to hire a bright, up and coming developer to join our SavvyVan family. The primary focus of the role is to continue the development of our inhouse applications and remote modules, to ensure our customer’s travel adventures are smarter and more effective than ever.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven Python developer with interest or experience in electronics, with the successful applicant developing our Python based applications, running on custom hardware.
The Role:
* Continue the development of our bespoke Python application that is used to integrate advanced and bespoke hardware.
* Define and build an API framework.
* Configure BLE and legacy Bluetooth protocols.
* Research and troubleshoot 3rd party communication protocols.
* Well-grounded opinions on best practices, performance, and documentation.
* Take informed decisions to balance code performance, quality, and velocity.
* Design and implement Python-based GUIs to streamline hardware control.
The person:
To support us on our next exciting phase of growth, we are looking for an individual who is:
* Enthusiastic about working for a small, agile business with big ambitions where you will be able to see the impact of your work every day.
* Have proven experience as a Python developer, ideally with at least 2 years’ experience in industry.
* Have previous knowledge of electronics/embedded systems.
* Experience with Python GUI frameworks.
* Experience in wireless communication protocols.
* Any experience with C++ and Linux is desirable.
We are also seeking someone who is collaborative, with a shared passion for quality and innovation (an interest in travel adventures and campervans is also a plus!).
Agile working:
We are offering true agile working, this being freedom to work when and where you like when in the development phase with the occasional, pre-arranged office time. When testing code, extra time maybe required in the office in Horsforth, Leeds but remote access will be provided where possible.
Salary of up to £40,000 pa (or part-time equivalent).
Please note that we can only accept applications from candidates who have a valid legal permit or right to work in the United Kingdom. Potential candidates who do not have this right or permit or are pending an application to obtain this right or permit should not apply as your details will not be processed
