Job Details: Job Description: Altera is looking for a senior manager to lead an organization of 10 FPGA applications engineers supporting all Altera products and customers technical issues in Europe. We are looking for a results-oriented leader with the ability to manage and motivate very experienced and capable applications engineers. We also expect candidates applying to this role to have high potential to progress in their career This team is responsible to assist in design, optimization and verification of high-performance FPGAs using Altera and third-party design software (e.g. Quartus II, Synthesis, Simulation, Timing Analysis, System Debug Tools, etc.) and enabling customers’ projects to successful qualification and production ramp. Engineers of this organization also work on the following: Assist customers and Distribution field personnel in Europe to enable design wins and bring issues to closure as efficiently as possible Create example designs and reference designs to demonstrate the usage of Altera FPGA products Collaborate with Marketing and Sales team in planning and executing strategic initiatives to grow Altera FPGA revenue As a Key member of Altera Worldwide Regional Applications extended leadership team, this role is expected to influence the direction and strategy of WW Regional Applications Engineering organizations Required to present updates of key initiatives to executives at various meetings Qualifications: BSEE/MSEE in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering or equivalent with a minimum 12 years of relevant industrial experience Minimum of 5 years' experience in managerial position or equivalent technical leadership roles, with high preference of a candidate that has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities building successful organizations with a highly inclusive culture Experience in FPGA or ASIC design, or electronics hardware design, or embedded software engineering Analytical and strong problem-solving skills, and ability to lead the team to drive issues to closure are essential Results oriented with good track record of driving continuous improvement and leading successful organizations Committed to development of great talent and good coaching and employee development skills Ability to grow and transform organizations Highly motivated to learn and adapt to fast-changing technologies and environments and excellent skills to influence without formal authority Strong verbal and written communications skills in English required Job Type: Regular Shift: Shift 1 (United Kingdom) Primary Location: Eclipse at Globe Park Additional Locations: Posting Statement: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, religious creed, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, military and veteran status, marital status, pregnancy, gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by local law, regulation, or ordinance.
