We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic disability support adviser with experience in providing advice and guidance to prospective and current students with disabilities, long-term medical conditions, or specific learning differences as well as staff. You will have knowledge and experience liaising with external agencies including funding bodies, local authorities, and social services to ensure support is in place for students with support needs.

The Accessibility, Disability and Inclusion Team forms part of the Student Life Directorate to support students with reasonable adjustments during their studies. This also includes working closely with the Mental Health and Wellbeing team, Support to Study, and Safeguarding teams.
We welcome internal secondment opportunities, as well as external applications for this 12 months, fixed-term contract for maternity cover.
You will take a lead on our FABBS faculty in providing support, advice, guidance, and training to staff, colleagues, stakeholders, and students by providing reasonable adjustments through our Tutor Awareness Sheet (TAS).
You will also be expected to support applicants who wish to join the University with a disability to ensure that we are proactive in meeting their support needs and providing an inclusive journey.
You will join our Disability and Inclusion Team, which has a key role to play in supporting an inclusive, integrated institutional approach to the delivery of outstanding student support across the University. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to raising awareness and confidence in supporting inclusive practice to meet the needs of disabled students. As part of the role, you will also support functions such as support events, transition events, and our Student Life counter to support with daily enquiries.
If you are an experienced, creative, and passionate disability practitioner with a sound understanding of the needs of disabled students in HE; have good knowledge and experience in providing high-quality student-centred disability-related advice, guidance, and support to prospective and current students to ensure access to appropriate and integrated support, this role will enable invaluable experiences.
