An exciting and rewarding opportunity has become available to support the Councils Housing & Support Solutions team to ensure homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring.
East Lindsey District Council are recruiting for 2 experienced Floating Support Officers.
1 role is fixed term until 31st March 2027 and the other role is fixed term until 31st March 2026 with possible extensions that would be dependent upon Grant Funding. This role is an integral part of the service providing support to people across the district who need intensive support to prevent being homeless and relief homelessness. You will:
1. Collaborate with Homeless, Housing, and Rough Sleeping Officers to identify support needs and equip individuals with the skills to maintain their current and future accommodation.
2. Respond promptly to contacts from those in interim accommodation, at risk of homelessness, or newly settled in permanent housing, including families, couples, and individuals who may have complex needs.
3. Signpost individuals to appropriate services to meet their identified support needs and ensure compliance with legislation.
4. Develop a comprehensive Support Plan alongside the Personal Housing Plan, addressing each person's needs and risks, with dynamic risk assessments to manage and mitigate identified risks.
5. Build relationships with volunteer and faith groups to assist in sourcing food parcels, personal hygiene products, and other essential items for those initially accommodated.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping vulnerable people through the provision of housing related support. Previous experience of providing housing related support or similar is essential as well as working with vulnerable adults and children. An understanding of the reasons why people end up homeless as well as measures to help resolve such issues would be advantageous.
The role will cover East Lindsey District area, therefore a driving licence is essential. Both posts are full-time post and will be based at Skegness however the Council has introduced agile working meaning the Officer may also be able to work from other locations outside the office, as you will be expected to be out in the community supporting your clients.
