Why do we need you?
MoneyPlus is embarking on an exciting journey of growth and development. Seeking to focus on brand recognition and customer growth, expanding its services to a wider range of customers across the country following investment from Intriva in 2021, at a time when debt advice is increasingly necessary.
To support this next phase of development and growth, we’ve recently expanded our marketing team, and we are currently on the lookout for a highly motivated Content Writer to join that team. This role will report into our Head of Brand, and will serve a critical function supporting our marketing activities across owned, earned & paid media channels.
The MoneyPlus Content Writer is responsible for creating high-quality, engaging, and informative content across various platforms. This role requires a creative thinker with excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to understand and convey our brand’s voice and key messages. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in content creation, SEO, CRO and a passion for storytelling. They need to be extremely proactive and highly involved in our category, constantly abreast of what competition are talking about, what consumers are engaging with, and what is going on culturally, economically and politically in the UK (& beyond). They should be able to manage briefs from multiple stakeholders (Brand, Digital, Social & PR), as well as to proactively write their own briefs, to produce content that drives the MoneyPlus agenda, to meet our business objectives.

What do we need you to do?
Content & Comms Strategy:
* Support in the development of the overall content strategy and comms calendar.
* Proactively recommend content ideas contributing to the overall content strategy.
* Work cross-functionally with SEO, CRM, SoMe & PR and to define content topics seeking ways to drive scale across channels wherever possible.
* Accountability for sharing external content – what’s being written about and talked about by our competitors and more broadly in the public domain.
* Support Head of Brand and external agency in the development of new brand positioning, brand guidelines and Tone of Voice guidelines.
* Work with Head of Brand to ensure Tone of Voice guidelines are adopted by employees and external agencies, and used in all future communications.
Content Creation:
* Write high-quality, informative articles, guides, and blog posts centred around financial services (and related topics) to improve SEO search visibility.
* Partner with digital team (and agency) to conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to improve content visibility and search rankings.
* Constantly review, edit & improve web content to increase authority and quality.
* Support CRM Manager in the development of compelling lifecycle CRM comms, including the writing of compelling content for CRM AB Testing.
* Support Communications Manager in the development of compelling Social Media comms, including the writing of scripts for videos, and ad copy.
* Support Brand Manager (and external agencies) in the development of brand guidelines and 360 Campaign development.
* Engage PR agency to drive efficiencies in content created cross channel.
Research and Analysis:
* Constantly monitor, document and communicate competitor content, consumer trends and cultural/political/economic topics relevant to the MoneyPlus brand.
* Analyse content performance using analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and make data-driven recommendations for copy and content improvements.
Content Review and Editing:
* Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
* Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and style standards.
* Work closely with compliance team to ensure all content aligns with legal and regulatory requirements
* Regularly refresh and optimise evergreen blog posts to maintain their relevance and effectiveness in search rankings.
* Upload and edit content in a CMS and WordPress.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with team members & agencies to create appealing & cohesive content.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to marketing brainstorming sessions.
* Collaborate with the customer service team to identify content opportunities born from consumer insight and/or designed to improve the customer experience.
What skills and experience do we need you to have?
* 3+ years of experience in content writing, copywriting or related field.
* Experience within Financial Services (or other highly regulated industry) with a strong consumer focus is preferred.
* Demonstrable passion for Financial Services, Debt Advice & Money Savings topics.
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
* Strong research skills and the ability to produce well-researched content.
* Knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
* Experience with content management systems (CMS)
* Ability to manage multiple projects & meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
* Ability to think strategically and creatively, and with a passion for storytelling.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Eager to learn and proactive in sharing thoughts, ideas and recommendations.
