Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant fwho is dedicated and passionate about working alongside childrenfor a school in Croydon. We are looking for someone who can provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for student with special educational needs.
Position Summary:
As an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need to support pupils within a SEN class and in the main classes. Your responsibilities involve working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and in school therapist to provide the necessary support to pupils.
You will be working as a general teaching assistant supporting the whole class. You will need to be comfortable working 1:1 with pupils, as you may need to take pupils on movement breaks during lessons, and implements behaviour strategies.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have an enhanced child workforces DBS on the update service or be willing to process one and two obtainable childcare relevant references.
Requirements:
• Previous Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a PRU or similar setting
• A strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent
• Knowledge of SEN and experience working with children and young people with a variety of special educational needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to easily build a positive rapport with both staff and students
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach to working with students
