We are seeking two highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly and progressive Obstetrics and Gynaecology service in Ayrshire for a period of 6 months with the opportunity to extend this by mutual agreement. The posts are predominately gynaecological with a contribution to obstetric on call shared between a team of 20 consultants. The job plan will include gynaecology outpatient clinics and the opportunity to contribute to gynaecology operating or outpatient procedures eg colposcopy. We see the successful candidates as individuals with leadership skills who will engage with and help develop our service, specifically with respect to quality improvement and safety. Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a License to Practice and must be on the Specialist Register. RCOG ATSM qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Advanced Labour Ward Practice and suitable Gynaecological ATSMs such as Gynaecological Oncology, Benign abdominal surgery, open and laparoscopic or others. The terms and conditions of service are those determined by the new Consultant contract (Scotland 2004) and the posts offer 9 and 8 programmed activity basis respectively with the opportunity to increase this by mutual agreement.
