Description St Swithun’s Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Midday Assistant to work 5 hours per week. We are a ‘good’ school with well-behaved children and a very supportive staff in the heart of Southsea. Hours are 12.15 pm – 1.15 pm Monday – Friday, term time only, 39 weeks Contract/Hours: 5 hours per week, term time only Salary Details: Band 1, FTE £23,473 - £23,656, pro-rata £2,751 - £2,772 Required Start Date: asap Closing Date: 24 th January 2025 Interview Date: 30 th January 2025 This is a busy and varied role requiring the successful candidate to supervise pupils during the lunchtime period. Our team of lunchtime staff work together sharing different duties over the week. Duties could include: Supervising and assisting children in the dinner hall to collect, eat and clear away their meals Supervising and engaging children in play activities on the playground Ensuring children play together positively and co-operatively with good behaviour During periods of ‘wet play’ engage children in suitable classroom activities, ensuring classroom behaviour expectations are upheld.
