Deputy Head Housekeeper
We are looking for a Deputy Head Housekeeper to be the face of our Housekeeping department. You will lead and motivate the team within the “heart of the house” by bringing your personality and flair to provide a warm and friendly environment to our colleagues and guests. The guest journey is paramount, so you'll know how to deliver a fantastic experience for our guests, time and time again achieving Grand standards.
What you will do
• Be fully accountable for the housekeeping department in the absence of the Head Housekeeper
• Ensure the highest level of cleaning standards are achieved in guest bedrooms, guest corridors, public and back of house areas ensuring agreed standards are achieved at all times
• Strategically create daily housekeeping assignments, ensuring optimum coverage and productivity, while remaining fair and reasonable for the team
• Confidently and competently use systems such as Opera, Fourth, Procure Wizard and the Streamline Linen Portal system
• To have an understanding and ability in regards to payroll forecasting, costs and monthly budget lines
• Motivate the team by leading with example; being dynamic, approachable and positive at all times
• Ensuring at all times H&S and compliance is adhered to in service.
• Make sure the team is well-trained, friendly, engaged and efficient in delivering the guest journey
• Confidently in effectively managing all employee-relation matters
• Ability to facilitate team member reviews, coffee chats and training documents
• Be flexible to jump into any roll within the housekeeping department when needed
Ideal candidate
• Strong leadership skills, as demonstrated in a previous role as Supervisor, Deputy Head Housekeeper or as a Head Housekeeper from a smaller property
• Promote a positive attitude and display the ability to ‘make things happen’ to achieve or exceed anticipated results
• Highly guest-service oriented
• Ability to confidently make decisions
• Due to the nature of the work, the ideal candidate would be fully flexible in their approach to work and be able to work shift patterns through weekdays and inclusive of weekends
