Our client is a local authority in the South West of England seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join their team of property professionals looking after a diverse portfolio of buildings.
You will contribute to providing a planned maintenance programme and have project management responsibility for minor capital projects (max £1-2m) including seeking planning (including Listed building consent) and building control consent, awarding, and managing build contracts.
You will manage responsive and remedial repairs by appointing contractors to undertake minor repairs, including specification and seeking consents for repairs if necessary. Additionally, you will secure advice, calculation, and specification of mechanical and electrical systems for replacement and renewal or supply to new capital projects.
To be considered for this role, you must hold relevant qualifications and be able to clearly demonstrate your relevant experience of working in a similar role for a UK Local Authority on your CV. You will have the experience and enthusiasm to work with the team to provide an efficient and effective maintenance management and advice service, ensuring targets are achieved, and programmes of work and statutory compliance activities are delivered on time and within budget, meeting legal and statutory requirements. A customer-focused and innovative approach, along with substantial experience in the surveying industry and varied building maintenance disciplines, is essential.
They are offering a rate of £370/day Umbrella (this role is inside IR35). This will initially be a 3-month contract, and our client offers hybrid working.
