Transformation and Improvement Lead - Unplanned Care
Band 8C, Full Time, Permanent
The Transformation and Improvement Lead is a key senior post supporting the Executive and Director of Transformation in the development and delivery of the Trust’s transformation agenda. The post will be pivotal in shaping and delivering a wide range of transformation projects and in driving productivity and value for money within the Trust. The post holder will take the lead on one or more Transformation programmes, assist senior managers in the identification of productivity/performance opportunity, design and implement rapid improvement workshops. The Transformation and Improvement Lead for Urgent and Emergency Care is responsible for leading strategic transformation initiatives to optimise patient flow and improve the delivery of urgent and emergency care services across the acute hospital. The postholder will be responsible for the overall management and governance of the rapid improvement element of the transformation agenda.

Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital. CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team. Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery. Our experienced staff take care of people of all ages across the borough of Croydon.

Person specification
Education, Qualification
* Educated to degree level with either Master's degree or equivalent
* Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent qualification in continuous improvement methodologies
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
* Coaching or mentoring qualification
Experience
* Significant experience in leading large scale transformation and improvement initiatives within acute hospital
* Experience of implementing large scale service improvement and change projects within a large complex organisation
* Experience of working at a senior level, managing complex projects
* Experience of working with Integrated Care Systems or Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships
Knowledge
* In-depth knowledge of urgent and emergency care pathways
* Advanced knowledge of improvement methodologies
* Demonstrable astuteness in understanding and working with complex policy and diverse interest groups
