The Post:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Primary and Community Care (PaCC) Directorate and contribute to the continuous improvement and development of clinical governance processes within Dental and Ophthalmic services.
We currently have a vacancy within our Dental and Ophthalmic area for a Governance Coordinator. Working closely with the Senior Clinical Optometric Advisers, Senior Dental Advisor and National Operations Manager, the postholder provides a high level of support to various areas of work within clinical governance, acting as first point of contact for the team and providing a secretariat support to complex clinical workstreams. This includes planning and organising meetings with senior external stakeholders, circulation of papers, follow-up actions to Committee meetings, typing up documents or minutes, and supporting communication with Scottish Government, Health Boards and other partners and stakeholders.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have an HNC qualification or significant relevant experience in providing administrative and secretariat support to senior managers, preferably at Board level. They should possess excellent organisational, IT, and interpersonal skills. As a confident communicator, they will be able to share information effectively with a diverse range of people in various settings, using different communication methods. The role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and the ability to prioritise tasks. Attention to detail is crucial, and knowledge of governance standards is advantageous.
Location and Working Pattern:
Edinburgh/Glasgow/Aberdeen
Currently hybrid working
Full-time/37 hours – Monday to Friday
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
