Located in central Plymouth, this historic Victorian Gothic establishment has 72 uniquely designed rooms. Offering a blend of historic charm and modern comfort, the hotel features a fine dining restaurant with AA Rosette recognition, a cozy lounge bar, and versatile event spaces ideal for weddings and conferences. With its rich history and prime location near key attractions like the Plymouth Pavilions, the hotel is an ideal choice for both leisure and business travelers. ABOUT YOU As General Manager, you'll be all about delivering guest experiences while driving the commercial success of the property. Reporting directly to the Divisional Director, you'll oversee the hotel team and be responsible for crucial business decisions.We’re seeking a dynamic General Manager who brings a comprehensive background in hotel operations, with strong expertise in food and beverage and, ideally, events. You are a professional capable of balancing commercial objectives with the highest standards of guest satisfaction. Whether you're an experienced General Manager or a Deputy or Operations Manager ready to take that next big step, you excel at leading teams, hotel operations, and driving business growth. Your exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to inspire your team are crucial to maintaining the hotel’s excellent standards. WHAT YOU’LL DO Drive sales and revenue growth by developing a deep understanding of the local tourist & corporate market. Lead and inspire the team across all departments to achieve exceptional performance in profit, people, and revenue growth. Conduct daily/weekly operations meetings with all department heads to ensure high levels of communication are maintained across the property. Serve as an ambassador for the guest journey, ensuring values and service behaviors are consistently delivered. Maximise revenue and manage occupancy effectively. Coordinate and assist with guest satisfaction and guest resolutions. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE Experience at either General Manager or Deputy General Manager/Ops level (we are open to first-time General Managers). Background in unbranded properties. Solid Food & Beverage experience. Excellent sales & revenue experience.
