Are you passionate about integrated working, functional outcomes for children, enabling education staff and parents?
Do you have skills in working with children within Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language therapy? Or working with children who need support with developing their independence in day-to-day activities in an educational environment?
We are looking to recruit 2 Band 4 Senior Therapy Assistants to work across Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy to support children with SEND needs in North or South localities. You will need to have appropriate experience/qualifications to do this work as well as a passion and willingness to further develop these skills.
We are looking for individuals who have experience of successful collaborative working with families, educational settings, and wider multi-agency teams. Working knowledge of the delivery of Special Educational Needs support in UK schools would be advantageous.

* Have good IT skills in order to make effective use of our mobile working technology and IT systems.
Your Main Duties Will Include:
* Assisting the BCHC Trust Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs and disabilities (SEND).
* Supporting the delivery of universal, targeted interventions in a range of settings including nurseries, schools, special schools, and other community settings.
* Planning and delivering therapy sessions as part of a delegated programme to children in the service without direct supervision at times but in regular liaison with designated therapist who will provide direction.
* Delivering and supporting educational settings in developing and making resources to support therapy programmes.

Job Description
Job Responsibilities
* Undertaking assessment of clients' communication and making appropriate clinical decisions with access to senior colleagues as required.
* Structuring clear therapy plans based on best practice.
* Advising and facilitating the decision-making process regarding patient/client management by ensuring that effective communication is achieved.
* Using highly developed communication skills to explain complex condition-related information from assessment/therapy plan to clients/carers and multidisciplinary team members.
* Working as part of multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams, including educational colleagues, providing early intervention for children and young people.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* NVQ Level 3/BTEC in health, education or social care (or equivalent training)/ Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy Access course.
* Evidence of training relevant to working with children and young people/Continuing Professional Development.
Experience Essential
* Relevant experience of working as a support worker with children.
* Experience of working independently and managing own time whilst prioritising activities.
* Demonstrate ability to work as part of the MDT.
Skills/Knowledge Essential
* Demonstrate a knowledge of the basic aims and principles of Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy and the Therapy Assistant role.
* Ability to work independently as well as within the multi-agency team.
* Ability to communicate verbally in a manner appropriate to a variety of parties, dealing with sensitive information and taking into account barriers to understanding.
* Ability to generate written communication which is relevant, concise, accurate and legible.
