The Regional Hyper-Acute Rehabilitation Unit is a tertiary service which caters for adults with severe complex neurological disability. It is a highly specialised Level 1 service forming the hub of the north-west London rehabilitation network. It combines inpatient services with outreach to support community rehabilitation teams and other professionals across the network. It is recognised as one of the UK's leading rehabilitation centres and is a model for good rehabilitation practice across the world. Main duties of the job You will: assist in the provision of a high quality, intensive therapy service under the supervision of specialist speech and language therapists. prepare and administer therapeutic programs for communication and swallowing difficulties under the direction of qualified SLTs. take an active role in leading therapy groups and gain valuable experience in working with people with communication and swallowing disorders. undertake duties to support the smooth functioning of the department and service including administrative tasks, contributing to service improvement projects and audit. take a lead on managing technology and software to support patients with complex communication needs. work as part of an interdisciplinary team and will be offered opportunities for career development, continuing professional development and upskilling.
