About the Role We are looking for an experienced, driven and collaborative leader for our thriving Music Publishing business. We have strong global growth ambitions and a keen desire to nurture and grow our work with some of the world's leading composers. If you are excited by the future challenges and opportunities in publishing, underpinned by major technology innovations, and you are creative and pragmatic, please apply Duties of the role will include: Defining and leading the strategic direction of OUP's Music publishing business, in line with OUP's Academic Division's strategic priorities Overseeing publishing of new musical works and publications and the exploitation of the entire Music list P&L ownership - setting budgets, 5-year growth plans, and managing to ensure that margin is monitored, maintained and improved, and business is achieving expectations Leading the 20-strong music team, ensuring strong focus and engagement with the business strategy and priorities Overseeing all key contractual relationships with external stakeholders, including Boosey & Hawkes, ABRSM, and key composers Liaising with other functions within OUP and advocating on behalf of Music to ensure business needs are met Developing and maintaining appropriate relationships with external contacts (e.g. publishers, music industry figures and organisations, composers) to represent OUP Music's needs and viewpoint We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. About You Experience at a senior level within the music and/or publishing industry The ability to embrace and drive change and anticipate changing market needs Knowledge of classical (particularly choral) music and markets globally and associated income streams is highly desirable Excellent organizational and communication skills Strong leadership skills coupled with a focus on team performance over individual Proven strategic skills and financial acumen A highly self-motivated attitude, with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills Benefits We care about work/life balance here at OUP.
