Procurement Category Manager - Global IT

Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are delighted to be partnered with a leading Global manufacturing organisation in the search and selection of a Procurement Category Manager - Global IT, within their developing procurement function.
A Global role, leading the IT function from a strategic viewpoint. Holding a spend of $110M, covering the IT category for 22 sites around the world.
The Role:
The Category Manager has responsibility for the wide category sourcing plan for IT (Professional Services, Hardware and Software), but could also be available for responsibility in CAPEX. They are responsible for delivering the benefits associated with the sub-category / commodity for which he/she is accountable. They will foster supplier relationships associated with the category and will work closely with the stakeholders in all functional areas to deliver benefits across the specific sub-category / commodity. They maintain close relationships with senior stakeholders to manage the innovation process with suppliers and to align on long-term development needs, plus value-adding opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the Services Category to make the category work efficiently and to make sure all KPI’s are met
2. Contribute to the Enterprise-wide category sourcing plan, focusing on the benefits achievement and plans related to the category
3. Continuous drive for optimizing working capital, costs and service. Oversee and deliver annual value improvements
4. Oversee and deliver sourcing strategies, processes and management of key suppliers
5. Measure and track performance of spend category and define budgetary impact
6. Develop and manage relationships with key groups of business stakeholders
7. Manage the network of external partners for activities or projects related to the Services Category
8. Adequate response to fulfilment performance and delivery issues with functional (Infrastructure, Apps and Cybersecurity) stakeholders
9. Coordinated and aligned methods with Business Partners and Territory Procurement teams to continuously monitor and enhance contract partners’ performance
10. Responsible for Procurement metrics: savings, contract compliance, supplier base management, payment term optimization
11. Supplier base reduction
The Person:
The successful candidate will have previous business experience, with a particular understanding of procurement, manufacturing and finance. Expertise related to specific subcategories, project management and strong problem-solving and analytical skills are also necessary for this role. Experience in manufacturing inventory management in a high-volume environment is also required. The individual must be able to demonstrate an ability to think strategically and argue persuasively for a course of action and be able to balance a strong strategic point of view with the ability to listen, adapt and bring others along.
A demonstrated background of strategic IT category leadership, within a Global or EMEA focused position.
This is a remote working role with the flexibility to be contractually based from any of the UK manufacturing operations.
