Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster As a Bridge simulator controller you will join a team that supports training in the Royal Navy’s Navigation Training Unit at HMS Collingwood. This team works side by side with Royal Naval (RN) instructors and provides a key contribution to the professional development of RN and foreign naval personnel through career and other courses, in preparation for operational duties in the Fleet. This role involves a 2 week shift pattern: Week 1 Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm Week 2 Monday to Thursday 3.30pm to 11pm This averages as 32.75 hours per week for pay Full training on the Simulator will be provided - no previous experience necessary Job title: Simulator Controller (Royal Navy Training) Job Description: What you will be doing: Working with Instructors to load simulations on to the systems/simulators, controlling the simulator and providing appropriate inputs and responses during a training scenario Managing the simulation exercises (malfunctions, machinery, man over board etc) Performing role play duties covering different scenarios Preparing, reviewing and updating training scenarios and support material What we’re looking for: Suitable candidates will hold a STCW II/1 qualification or an RN equivalent (bridge watchkeeping Cert.) Previous experience in the Royal/Merchant Navy Good IT skills (MS Office) Good communication skills Must be able to be cleared to UK SC level About Project Selborne Project Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training.
