PLC Engineer - County Tyrone

An opportunity has arisen for a PLC Engineer with 5 years of postgraduate experience to join a well-established engineering firm.
Our client manufactures a diverse range of products, such as hi-lifts and aircraft maintenance equipment.
In this role, you will report to the Head of Design & Engineering and lead the entire software development lifecycle, including defining requirements, coding, and design review.
You will be responsible for:
1. Develop software for hydraulic and electrical control systems, prioritising quality and safety.
2. Manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to coding and testing.
3. Design electrical schematics and create detailed drawings with accurate BOM for electrical components.
4. Produce technical documentation, including work instructions, parts lists, and maintenance components.
5. Contribute to R&D projects to enhance and expand the product range.
6. Offer customer support and resolve technical issues.
7. Ensure product quality through the design of electrical testing methods and testing finished products.
8. Uphold company reputation by adhering to regulations and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
9. Maintain a clean and organised workspace and comply with health and safety procedures.
What we are looking for:
1. Previously worked as a PLC Engineer or in a similar role.
2. HND or equivalent qualification in Electronic / Electrical Engineering or relevant experience.
3. Understanding of current regulations and electrical design standards.
4. Strong technical drawing skills and experience drafting to electrical standards.
5. Skilled in schematic and software programming design using tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or EPLAN.
6. Ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings.
