Temporary Works Design Engineer – RC Frames, Groundworks & Basements
(3+ years’ experience as a minimum as a TW design engineer needed)
I have three opportunities available in the following locations:
* Thurrock (Essex)
* Welwyn Garden City (Hertfordshire)
* Croydon (Surrey)
Salary Guide: £45,000 to £75,000 + full benefits (depending on seniority and experience)
About the Employers:
First of all, all of these businesses are specialist subcontractors that build reinforced concrete frames while completing the associated groundworks, foundations, basements, and associated works for a variety of developers and main contractors across London and the surrounding areas.
Secondly, each of these businesses currently falls in the top 10 largest RC frame specialists in the UK, so you can be assured they are good at what they do, have been around long enough to have established brands, and no matter which business you consider, these are all one of the best in this sector.
About the Opportunities:
Due to ongoing growth or changes within the existing teams, each of these clients are looking to expand their in-house temporary works design capabilities and is therefore recruiting permanently for a Temporary Works Design Engineer / Manager (depending on the amount of experience gained) to provide design engineering services within the Temporary Works team. Reporting either directly to the Technical Director or MD of each business, you will be competent in the production of temporary works within the sectors mentioned above and will represent the company at meetings with clients, other professionals, and suppliers.
About the Requirements:
In order to be considered for any of these opportunities, you should hold suitable tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, structural engineering, or construction. Additionally, you will have a vast working knowledge of the current design standards, hold a minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in the design of temporary works within sectors such as RC frames, groundworks, and basements, and have good knowledge of the use of AutoCAD, Modelling software and similar.
About the Benefits & Rewards:
For these permanent opportunities, my clients are targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere from £45,000 to £75,000 per annum however there may be flexibility on this as the specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company, such as pension, bonuses, car allowances, etc. If you are looking to work on a self-employed basis, two of these businesses will also offer that.
About Me, Your Consultant:
My name is Andrew Jackson and I am one of the founding directors of Cityscape Recruitment Ltd. I have over 18 years of experience in civil engineering & construction recruitment, during which time, I have specialised in the niche sectors of concrete frames, groundworks, basement construction, and demolition.
So, what does that mean for you? It means, I work with the vast majority of the groundwork & concrete frame businesses in the UK and I can help not only introduce you, but I can give you up-to-date information on each of them (the good parts and the less positive parts), helping you make an informed decision so you can take your career forward. I’ve been doing this for a fair while now and I’ve maintained a positive reputation doing what I do because I don’t tell people false truths, I tell them everything I know and then let them choose. My job is to get you the options, give you the information, and then let you decide what feels right for you.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner (you can get to know me while I get to know you). And I know this is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV/details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.
