Job Introduction
Overview
We are currently looking for 6 regular staff members to operate The Cellar Keg Room. The Cellar Keg Room Staff is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the cellar and keg room, ensuring a consistent supply of beer for the bars. This role involves tasks such as keg handling, cleaning, maintenance, and stock management.
Responsibilities
* Keg Handling:
o Receive, inspect, and store incoming kegs.
o Rotate kegs according to FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
o Connect and disconnect kegs to and from the beer lines.
o Ensure proper labeling and identification of kegs.
o Removal and sorting of empty kegs.
* Cleaning and Maintenance:
o Clean and sanitise cellar walls, kegs, lines, and equipment regularly.
o Monitor temperature and humidity levels in the cellar.
* Inventory Management:
o Maintain accurate records of keg inventory.
o Request kegs as needed to ensure adequate supply.
o Report any discrepancies or damages to the manager.
* Safety:
o Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
o Use proper handling techniques for heavy kegs.
o Report any safety hazards or concerns to the manager.
* General Duties:
o Assist with other tasks as assigned by the cellar manager.
Qualifications
* Experience in a food service or hospitality environment preferred.
* Knowledge of keg rooms is desirable.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Physical fitness to lift and move heavy kegs.
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Additional Skills (Desired)
* Forklift certification.
* Knowledge of beer cellar management systems
