This pivotal role plays a key part in the strategic development and operational delivery of safeguarding initiatives across The Countess of Chester Hospital Trust.The post holder will work to establish and promote effective referral pathways and communication between hospital services, including the Countess of Chester, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Social Care and other community professionals as needed. This work will be in line with the Department of Health's 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' (2023), the Laming Enquiry, the National Service Framework for Children, and other relevant national standards and recommendations Main duties of the job The role is centered on safeguarding children, young people, and families by providing expert support and guidance to Countess of Chester Hospital staff. Key responsibilities include: Safeguarding & Liaison: Ensuring other organisations are made aware of patient admissions in the best interests of the child. Information Management: Coordinating and securely managing the transfer, storage, and analysis of safeguarding-related information from the acute Trust to community services. Collaboration & Communication: Working across professional and organisational boundaries to strengthen safeguarding practices, maintain effective relationships, and enhance information sharing between services. Training & Development: Identifying staff training needs, delivering education on safeguarding and domestic abuse, and participating in local and national safeguarding initiatives.
