Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Physiotherapist for Front of House at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital(NSECH). The team provide a service to the Emergency Department and range of acute wards based in at NSECH. The suitable candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative, and is ready to take on the responsibility and challenges of a senior position within a busy front of house environment. The post holder will work with the Principle Physiotherapist for Front of House, and a team of 10 registered and unregistered Physiotherapy staff dedicated to front of house. The post holder will assist in the leadership of the team, on a day to day basis. The applicant will have the skills and experience to mange a complex caseload, providing high quality physiotherapy to patients with a range of conditions. The role will involve daily MDT working therefore experience of working as part of a MDT is essential. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting to the Emergency department and patients who have been admitted to an acute ward. Experience of working with older people in an acute setting is essential as a large number of patients are older adults. Experience of working with in an Emergency Department is desirable. The applicant must demonstrate excellent communication skills with Multidisciplinary Teams and peers. Applicants should have experience in supervision, education and training of more junior staff and be involved in student education, research and audit. Applicants must provide evidence of continuous professional development and post graduate training related to the role. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with the senior leadership team in service development. Therefore experience of service development would be advantageous. The post holder will contribute to a weekend rota, working approximately 1 in 12 weekends.
