Qualified Teacher of the Deaf
BSCS currently have a vacancy for a full time Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QTOD) to work in a peripatetic role with schools, early years settings, colleges and families (O-25) to build their capacity to meet the needs of learners who have a hearing loss through our Teaching or Advisory programmes. We will consider qualified, experienced teachers willing to undertake the mandatory qualification.
This is a full time, term-time position.

About the role
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, well organised and motivated professional committed to working with all our stakeholders and seeking to improve the outcomes for children with hearing loss. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently as well as contributing to the wider team. The role will involve direct teaching, the delivery of training and the management of the specialist equipment such as radio aids. All teachers are on Teachers Pay and Conditions.

About you
As a qualified Teacher of the Deaf, you will:
2. Provide specialised teaching and support to students (0-25) with a hearing loss at home, in schools and colleges across Berkshire
3. Promote inclusion by facilitating the integration of students with a hearing loss into mainstream educational settings through early intervention, tech solutions and staff development
4. Ensure individualised support for children with hearing loss, allowing them access to the National Curriculum in compliance with Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (2014) (SENCOP)and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
5. Collaborate with schools, colleges and settings to enhance their capacity for inclusivity, providing training, advice and teaching strategies
