About the Company - Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £130M and nearly 1000 staff.
About the Role - Maintenance Controls Engineer Reporting to the Maintenance & Calibration Manager. Provide first class, flexible support to production requirements and factory services at all times by means of the application of electrical and control/PLC skills in fault-finding/diagnostics, planned preventative maintenance practices and electrical installation.
Responsibilities
1. Comply with SHE and all statutory Safety, Health and Environment requirements.
2. Ensure reliability of onsite Programmable Logical Control Systems.
3. Ensure maintenance engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods/procedures to reduce these utilising our CMMS (computerised maintenance management system).
4. Work as part of the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered.
5. Perform detailed preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with schedules.
6. Diagnose and rectify faults on all plant and equipment within the manufacturing facility.
7. Identify the root cause of asset faults, improving asset performance and reliability to meet operational objectives.
8. Provide a fast and efficient response time to any plant breakdowns that occur, whilst ensuring all company procedures and standards are adhered to.
9. Work and train new apprentices in a maintenance discipline.
Qualifications
1. Recognised electrical qualifications.
Required Skills
1. Experience of working with PLCs (Siemens S7, S5, Mitsubishi, ABB and Eurotherm).
2. A strong PLC programming interrogation background.
3. A proven maintenance engineering professional with high standards of electrical and mechanical understanding and competencies.
4. Ability to work to find root cause of failure in reactive maintenance scenarios, and implement permanent corrective actions.
5. The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
6. Experience with Microsoft Office and CMMS (computerised maintenance management system).
Skills
1. Knowledge and understanding of health and safety processes.
2. Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures and deliverables.
3. Understanding of environmental controls and practices.
4. 18th Edition BS7671 certificated & 2391/52 inspection and testing qualified.
