Frontline Maintenance Engineer Based in Norwich, Norfolk Salary is £38,321.65 to £41,195.81 dependant on skills, experience and qualifications Full time hours over Monday to Friday 2 Shift (Week 1 – 06:00 to 14:00. Our Norwich based client, a large manufacturing business in Norwich, who are a well established Design & Manufacturing Company is looking for a Frontline Maintenance Engineer to join their team. The role has responsibility for the Reactive Maintenance of manufacturing machinery and all associated production equipment which includes diagnosis and repair of faults The also have responsibility for the Proactive Maintenance of such machines and all associated production equipment which includes routine planned services, modifications, services based on reports from the planned preventative maintenance inspections. They have responsibility for ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of safety whilst carrying out machinery repairs including using Lock out Tag Out, Using work Permits, dynamic risk assessments and cordoning off work areas to ensure that all machinery and equipment is safe for both engineers to work on and for other employees to work nearby. Working alongside the Senior Maintenance Engineers, Production personnel and the Development team to provide engineering expertise where required, in supporting the installation and setup of new equipment for projects and production improvements, that meet customer requirements. 1. Responding to eMaint Tickets generated by the departments, ensuring as best possible that work is always completed in the correct priority order, Safety is always number 1. 2. Ensuring all activities undertaken completed in the safest way possible, suitable consideration should be made regarding safe working practices including Working at height, Hot work and work with hazardous substances (COSHH & DSEAR). 3. Following site Task Risk Assessments (TRA) to ensure site safety standards are met. 4. Correctly using the site Lock out Tag out procedure to ensure work is completed in safe de-energised states whenever possible. 5. Using site Dynamic Risk Assessment tools to ensure that nonstandard tasks are rigorously assessed prior to work commencing to reduce any risks to suitable levels. 6. Using site Permit to work systems primarily when working at height or completing hot work. 7. Fault finding and using diagnostic equipment, this includes using specific fault finding and diagnostic equipment e.g. Multi Meters/Meggers, Vibration analysis tools, Thermography, Oil Particle Counters, Air Leak Detectors. 8. Fault Finding using engineering techniques such as High accuracy measurements, mechanical inspection, electrical 50/50 split, comparison with known sources, use of reference documents/set up guides and research. 9. Responsible for Electrical/Mechanical/Hydraulic/Pneumatics repairs. Component identification and understanding of suitable safe alternatives. 10. Repairing and replacing valves, seals, pistons, motors and pumps that can require either electrical or mechanical repairs. 11. Maintain, repair and setup Ancillary and Finishing equipment, which will include Grinders, Blenders, Conveyor Belts, Robots, Closing devices, Wadders and Assembly machines to ensure optimum performance and efficient running of production is maintained. 12. Carrying out visual checks and servicing of cooling systems, replenishing coolant in machinery and draining down systems and refilling. 13. Undertaking plastic and metal fabrication, welding and repairing of broken guards/brackets and fabrication of parts using workshop equipment including Guillotine, Bandsaws, Lathes, Mills, Pillar drills and grinding machines. Use of TIG, Gas and MMA welding techniques as the job requires. 14. Communicate with Supervisors and Engineering Stores to ensure that stock and parts required are replenished and available. 15. Completion of paperwork and associated documentation accurately for all service, repair and maintenance carried out on machinery. 16. Installation of new machinery and the movement of machinery within the factory ensuring all Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic installations are carried out safely. Installing and fitting blender and material systems. 17. Providing support and advice to the Planned Maintenance team on new tasks that arise outside their general knowledge and experience. 18. Supporting apprentices in mechanical, electrical and safety practices and provides support as part of their ‘in house’ training support programme. Potentially acting as an apprentice Mentor. 19. Liaising with Production Staff to agree dates and times when a machine can be released for Maintenance. 20. Any other responsible duties as required by the Engineering Shift Supervisor that falls within the scope of this role and the department. Qualifications and experience Required for this Frontline Maintenance role: • C&G Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent. EITB • GCSE standard education in English, Maths and Physics • NVQ Level 3 in both Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering • HNC (min) in Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical engineering or equivalent • Must have several years experience of working with manufacturing equipment and machinery which includes pneumatics and hydraulics The company currently operates the following standard shift patterns: • Monday to Friday 2 Shift (Week 1 – 06:00 to 14:00.
