Job summary Rapid Assessment Team (RATS) - Accident & Emergency Department, York Hospital York Hospital has recently opened the new A&E Department. The Hospital Social Work Team, have an employment opportunitywithin the Rapid Assessment Team (RATS) based in A&E. Main duties of the job The post is for a Social Worker (22 hours per week), workingin a multi-disciplinaryteamalongside Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleagues from health. The team is well established and is staffed with experienced Social Workers. The team cover A&E 7 days a week and working between 8am to 8pm on a rotational basis. As a social worker in RATS, you do not hold a case load, your remit is to prevent admission to acute care, working to a home first and strength-based ethos. You will support customers from York, North Yorkshire, and East Riding and out of area who present at A&E. The work is interesting and varied and would appeal to those who like fast paced rapid assessment work and have at least 2 years post qualifying experience and are looking for a change. You will receive monthly supervision and be supported by the hospital social work management team; we have monthly team meetings and peer support.
