The Role:
We are looking for a Planning Enforcement Officer in Development Management. You will inspect plans, carry out site visits, assess development proposals, and identify possible breaches of planning control. You will provide advice to applicants, negotiate on planning applications, and keep comprehensive notes of site visits and meetings. You will also draft reports for planning committees and prepare statements for appeals and prosecutions. Excellent customer service is essential.
You will have the opportunity to help shape our planning service and will be committed to continuous improvements in service delivery.
With a strong and supportive team, you will play a key part in the growth and success of the Development Management service.
We have a hybrid model of working with 3 days in the office each week.
About You:
You should have an RTPI-recognised degree level qualification in Town Planning or its equivalent, along with thorough knowledge of relevant planning legislation, policies, and procedures. Experience with community engagement and the ability to negotiate development proposals are important. You should be responsive, motivated, and able to lead on cases, with good customer service and presentation skills.
