Teaching Personnel is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to help support the teaching staff in developing and providing quality learning for pupils with special educational needs. This will involve a wide variety of physical, emotional, and behavioural needs, including high levels of ASD, ADHD, and behavioural issues. You will help to encourage pupils to be engaged and interested, making them feel safe and happy in a learning environment.
The school in West Drayton is a lovely, modern 2-form entry primary school with welcoming staff and a supportive team. The school has a significant need for SEN support, including LSA support and nursery assistants.

Main roles and responsibilities:
1. Assist the lead teacher in enabling each pupil to access their curriculum.
2. Engage with playground activities.
3. Support and encourage the development of pupils' education.
4. Look after pupils' physical, emotional, and social welfare.
5. Operate in a calm and assertive manner during SEN-specific situations.
6. Be aware of SEN in schools and how ECHP plans work.
7. Keep records and attend review meetings.
8. Communicate with parents and guardians.
9. Provide 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 support.
10. Ensure children's safety at all times.
Key skills and requirements:
1. Experience working with SEN pupils.
2. Friendly and compassionate.
3. Patient and resilient.
4. Sensitivity and understanding.
5. Understanding of SEN needs.
6. Excellent verbal communication.
7. Confidence working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
