The Role
Tameside Fostering Service are a dynamic, exciting, nurturing and experienced team. Our aim is to provide support, training, supervisions to new and experienced foster carers. In Tameside we want to provide safe homes for children. We aim to ensure children have the opportunity to grow, have access to new opportunities and maintain contact with birth families when they cannot return home.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated Training and Development Coordinator to support the needs of its foster carers. You will be joining a supportive and inclusive team who value your personal development.
The Training and Development Coordinator will develop a fostering training pathway that has a direct interface with the fostering skills levels.
A training and development pathway will enable foster cares to undertake relevant training specific to the children they care for to enhance and develop skills and knowledge.
The training programme will be linked to carers Personal Development Plans to ‘stretch’ and ‘grow’ carers to be able to care for children with additional needs, complex trauma behaviours and sibling groups.
The pathway will enable foster carers to gain accreditation and qualification.
You will receive regular supervision and work in a supportive culture where we are ambitious about delivering effective social work practice and supporting you to be the very best you can be.
About You
We are looking for candidates with previous experience of working with foster carers, children and families; excellent people skills; ability to talk to the public; as well as the knowledge and skills to both deliver and commission training.
