An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Matron to join our Digestive Diseases, Urology and General Surgery are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of progressive, transformational leadership, to drive a culture of quality care to improve outcomes and experience for patients who use our services.
The successful candidate will hold responsibility for ensuring the efficient and effective day to day running of nursing/midwifery within their designated area of responsibility, to deliver key quality, performance and financial plans, achieving key service improvements and line management to designated staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be somebody who encompasses our Trust Values and will work with staff, to ensure that our services are safe and effective.
You must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills; you should be able to demonstrate your experience of developing a culture of high performance and excellence.
You will be responsible for ensuring effective, day to day management of nursing in your area, to achieve safe staffing levels, deliver key quality, performance and financial plans and achieve service improvements. You will also be expected to participate in supporting the wider operational and strategic management of the Trust. Leadership experience in this specialty would be advantageous but is not essential.

After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.

5. Management and clinical skills with well-developed leadership, influencing skills and the ability to engage, influence and motivate
6. Knowledge and a proven track record of recent operational and clinical nursing/midwifery management and the ability to be intellectually flexible and to look beyond existing structures and ways of working
7. Knowledge and demonstrable capability of service improvements, strategies for infection control and transformational leadership
8. Knowledge and experience of contributing to and effectively implementing the Nursing/midwifery Strategy.
9. To have a working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act

10. Degree or diploma in a relevant subject
11. A Masters level Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience
